"Things I've been Silent About" by Azar Nafasi
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2910034-things-i-ve-been-silent-about

I'm interested in this book because reading "Reading Lolita in Tehran" really interested me in more of Nafasi's work. And this book is more about her life and her falling in love, and partying in Tehran etc.

Second Choice, another memoir about iranian life.

"Persian Girls: A Memoir" by Nahid Rachlin seems like a kind of crazy story from the description. A lot goes on it seems in the story. It's a story of family, corruption and unrequited love. All of the subjects interest me.

I would like to read A Wrinkle in Time, by Madeleine L'Engle

I have always wanted to read this novel. I am interested in fantasy novel, and this is one that is well known. I like the idea of traveling to different worlds, which features prominently in this novel.

Secondly, there is Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley.

I am interested in this book, because I like reading novels about alternate timelines. I have read Nineteen Eighty-Four, and enjoyed it, and this novel seems similar.

I would like to read The Human Condition by Hannah Arendt. More or less, my interest comes from the fact that I know most of my college classes will my focusing in on this idea. And I feel like we will touch upon it a lot throughout our class this year.

My second choice would be No One Will See Me Cry (Lannan Translation Selection Series) by Cristina Rivera-Garza. Mostly because I love mystery books.

and

Leaving Paradise
by Simone Elkeles

also considering...

The Hunger Games
by Suzanne Collins
(recommneded by a friend.)

SO, I kind of went at this search blindly. I merely typed in the search bar on goodreads what I have in the past enjoyed (Young/adult science fiction) and along came a endless list of books. Reading through many brief summaries, these caught my attention.Scrolling through reviews one women said about "It's You Against Me": "reminded me of the episodes of Law&Order SVU"-- just so happens I love that show!Another stated it was "Romeo & Juliet meets Criminal Per suet" which is just a win win(I'm all about Shakespeare). Reading far into these books reviews a women recommended "Leaving Paradise." I figured it would be worth looking into. Ended up finding it quiet interesting and definitely up my ally. I'm all about Fantasy, Mystery, and Romance. These three books fulfill that for me.

1) The Things a Brother Knows: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7507905-the-things-a-brother-knows

- I would like to read this book because it seems very interesting in that it looks into psychology as well as the relationship between two brothers. I like stories that are filled with drama and adventures that come to a conclusion by the end of the story.

2) Second Grave on the Left: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9565045-second-grave-on-the-left

- I am interested in reading this book because it sounds like a fun mystery story. I enjoy reading supernnatural stories that require some quest to figure something out by the end. I also like that it appears to have some comic relief in it.

- I had two books in that mind that dealt with psychological effects

My first choice is New York to Dallas by JD Robb . It is the 33rd book of the in death series and one I greatly enjoy because I have followed Eve's journey

My second choice is called Into the Woods by Tana French. It is along the similar lines of my first choice and also looks like a great read

"Dawn" by Elie Wiesel
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11166.Dawn

After reading "Heart of Darkness" by Conrad and "H.T.W.L.L.A.P", I want to read the rest of the "Night" trilogy just to see how I can analyze and react to the text now that I can look at certain themes like the human condition and so forth.

"Day" by Elie Wiesel
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11168.Day

I just can't let the end of a trilogy to dry. I want to finish the trilogy just to understand why Wiesel wrote these memoirs of his life. The rationale also shares qualities as that of why I want to read "Dawn" by Wiesel as well.

A STOLEN LIFE, by Jaycee Dugard
http://www.amazon.com/Stolen-Life-Memoir-Jaycee-Dugard/dp/1451629184

I am so interested in reading this book, because I have always been interested in this story. This book is a true story about a small girl who was kidnapped and forced to live in a backyard for 18 years. Its the story of her life in her own words. She touches on her feelings of being a "slave" all the while having three kids from her rapist and raising them in this back yard for most of her life.

Broken by Shy keenan
http://www.amazon.com/Broken-Shy-Keenan/dp/0340937440/ref=pd_sim_b1

I have heard about this book from my mother. She absolutely loved it. Its a similar story to A Stolen life, except its more based on child abuse in homes instead of kidnapping from homes.

the great gatsby

or invitation to a beheading

the plot and theme of invitation seems really interesting and "philosophical."

the great gatsby is a like a staple in literature and it would be nice to be familiar with the text for future references
